Hermes,
the gerbil.

A small, thoughtful resident of the upper shelf. Curious, swift, and fond of sunflower seeds since 1997.

A life of quiet industry

Hermes arrived in a small cardboard box one rainy afternoon. He quickly claimed the cedar house on the second level of his enclosure and has rarely left it since, except for evening excursions across the desk.

He keeps a strict schedule: seeds at dawn, tunnel inspection by mid-morning, and a contemplative hour spent watching the ceiling light in the late afternoon.
